It’s no secret that the owners of Consignment Canada love furniture, antiques, artwork and all home and garden accessories. Part of what drives us to own and operate a business like this is our passion for all things beautiful and unique. We thought we would do a blog post featuring images from Angela town home. Angela purchased this 1982 town home back in 2010 and completely gutted it as it had not been updated since it was built in 1982. It was a lot of work but worth it. One of Angela’s favourite rooms is her spa like bathroom with large skylight. A fantastic dresser came in for consignment amazingly from another townhouse in Angela’s complex. Jonny customized the dresser to be a vanity.
A marble top was custom made and Jonny was able to keep all drawers for storage by modifying the back to fit the plumbing for the sink. All of the accessories and artwork in the bathroom have been sourced by CC over the years. Angela likes to keep beautiful soaps in vintage crystal and silver plate vessels and changes her artwork frequently to suit her taste. CC has so many pieces of inexpensive artwork meaning you can change up your look quite regularly if you get bored.
Apart from the antique chest of drawers in the bedroom and the dining chairs, all items are from Consignment Canada.
Antique jewelery box and wood block Japanese print from CC. Antique mahogany dresser was Angela and Dick’s from the 1970’s that Dick brought in from England with his first antiques business.
Angela also enjoys entertaining and hosting her book club gang. The town home has a Thomasville kitchen with bright pieces of artwork and furniture from CC.
You can see that Angela loves colour, mixing patterns and styles and displaying artwork. The sofas are classic camel backs that were reupholstered in a soft velvet and the vintage armchair and hassock have been re-upholstered and is down-filled as is the Bergere chair which was re-upholstered in a very fine fabric. If you want to make a statement choose a small piece that does not require a lot of fabric and you can choose a more special and expensive fabric then.
Angela has always enjoyed gardening and loves her little Courtyard garden that backs onto the West Vancouver Library. Normally the garden furniture is covered in colourful striped cushions but it had rained the day of the photos so we were not able to put them out.
We hope you enjoyed a look into a CC owner’s home. Please don’t hesitate to speak to us about design ideas or tips.
